We started with our first horse, Ginger in 2003. We didn't set out to become a rescue, it just happened. We were supposed to be buying a horse from a friend of a friend for her kids. After we rehabilitated Ginger, a few more horses moved in. Rescue Riders was born. I started teaching kids to ride helping another instructor out in 2002. I enjoyed it. When Shansumako Farm allowed us to move our horses here and start offically teaching lessons, The lesson program grew. We specialize in teaching young-teen riders who have never been around horses before. We help them learn to work with and convince an 800+ pound creature with a mind of it's own to do what they want and apply those skills to daily life. They also learn to work with and teach other people. We absolutely love what we do and have a wonderful group of people and animals to share our farm with.
